ESF Cross-Country Skiing, Meribel Valley

5 or 6 day cross-country skiing course

featured in Guides & tours

Why not try a new activity this winter and learn how to cross-country ski!

For most people the only time they really experience cross-country skiing is by watching the Olympics. With this ski school you can try it yourself! Cross-country skiing is a fitness based discipline that is mainly practiced on specially developed tracks.

You can choose to learn or improve at either:

  • Skate skiing
  • Classic skiing

Most professionals say that classic is easier to learn as the movement is similar to walking, whilst skate skiing tends to be more suited to athletic people as the movement is more dynamic.

All staff speak English, ensuring that there are no communication barriers and to provide the best possible learning experience.

What's included

The course only includes the coaching. You will need skis, boots and poles. Rental shops in the resort will be able to help with hire and adjustment of the correct equipment for Nordic (cross country) ski.

Worth knowing

It can get hot quickly practicing cross country skiing: wear breathable clothes, and not too thick. Perhaps thin layers that can easily be removed.

Who should go

A great option for those that want to be away from the busy slopes and a good preparation for those doing a bike or trail season.
