What's on in Meribel this week 24th February 2017

Saturday begins another weekend of rugby with the Six Nations returning after a break in the tournament last weekend. This Saturday sees Scotland and Wales play head to head at 15:25 as well as Ireland vs France at 17:30. Lodge du Village, Jacks Bar and Barometer are great venues to catch all the rugby action with killer deals on offer. Jacks Bar is offering happy hour prices on jugs of beer during every game (deal ends as soon as the first try is made). Alternatively, grab a jug of beer and juicy chicken wings for €30 during every match at LDV.

Drag yourself away from the rugby and step outside in the beautiful sunshine to enjoy après at LDV this Saturday. One of the most popular bands in the Alps, Coco and the Butterfields, is making a star appearance and will be playing on the terrace from 16:00. Having recently performed two sell out gigs at the 02 Academy in Islington and were last year on the shortlist for Britain’s entry into the Eurovision Song Contest, they’re a band not to be missed! Bringing spice to the slopes, kick-off your week with an all-you-can eat Indian buffet happening Saturday at Evolution Café Bar & Brasserie. Sunday sees another week of Jacks Bar’s Sunday Shameless night. With €5 pints and 2-4-1 house spirit mixers to compliment an evening of bangin’ DJ beats and dress-up costume attire, there’s so much cheesy fun to be had!

Sunday also means Lodge Du Village’s infamous Toss The Boss challenge from 22:00. Due to high demand, TTB returns for all those willing to enter into a gamble with the boss over a round of drinks. All that lies between you and free alcohol is the innocent roll of a dice so head down to LDV and introduce yourself to the team.

Also on offer, catch some fabulous live music at Evolution’s Sunday Wingmen Club from 22:30. Grab any classic or flavoured mojito for €6 in Evolution’s extended mojito o’clock hour between 22:00 and midnight.

England will play Italy at 16:00 this Sunday as part of the Six Nations rugby tournament.

On Monday head to Evolution for another Meat Grill Mondays event happening between 19:00-22:00. At just €20, you can indulge in the meaty-goodness of a set menu including succulent sirloin and gammon steaks, southern fried chicken wings, kindo BBQ ribs, garlic prawns, grilled mushrooms and tomatoes, grilled cob and homemade chips plus béarnaise sauce and salad. Tequila Tuesday takes place every week at Scott’s Bar with €12 wraps on offer between 19:00 - 22:00, 2-4-1 cocktails between 22:00 - 23:00 and €2 tequila shots from 22:00-close.

Tuesday après means Daisy B and Tom at Jacks Bar and Bring Your Sisters at LDV from 17:00.

Later on there is even more live music around resort, including Hobo Chic at Evolution, Daisy B & Tom at The Tav, Bubble & Crisp at Pub and Bring Your Sisters playing at the club into the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Head to Jacks Bar for some cheap shots as part of the bar’s See You Next Tuesday Shot Night event. All Genepi, Jägermeister and Sambuca shots at €2 a pop, plus €2.50 jagerbombs – who said Meribel was pricey?

This Wednesday welcome the first day of the new month with a mental Bubble & Crisp après at The Rond Point. Alternatively, Alex Davies is singing live at LDV from 16:00 or up the hill, enjoy an extended après with The Mardy Johnny Depps, Wingmen and MAPS playing from 17:00 at Jacks Bar.

The Livewire Duo will feature at The Den a little later on, with The Wingmen playing across town at Pub. Pub also have happy hour on from 16:00 - 18:00.

If you missed out on the flavours of India on Saturday night with Evolution’s International Buffet, don’t worry as The Den is hosting a Curry Night this Thursday. Indulge in the authentic flavours of Indian curry cuisine for €35 per head. Complimented with the soulful sounds of DJ Wonka, don’t miss your chance to experience Mumbai in Meribel. A mega Hip Hop Karaoke event will be taking place at Lodge du Village from 22:00. Presented by UK Hip Hop duo, Too Many T’s, LDV is giving any budding MC’s the chance to win a €250 bar tab. As hosts for Meribel’s first ever hip hop karaoke event, the duo are looking for contestants willing to get on stage, have a laugh and put to the test the skills they have honed in the front seat of their cars – so get involved!

Friday Open Mic Night happenings every week at Scott’s Bar with Daisy B and Tom. Well-known band, Livewire are also playing across the road at La Taverne from 22:30 and Al Jones in The Den.

Later on in the club, experience a Throne Room Alps Showcase event happening till the wee hours of Saturday morning. Whether you’re a fan of the label, or a keen underground dance music enthusiast, this show in the snow is not to be missed with line-up boasting Transcode, Oliver Carloni, Jack Bassford, Liam Armstrong and James Pickford.
