Winter holidays in Méribel are not just about skiing and energetic outdoor pursuits.

As a result, more and more hotels now offer luxurious spa facilities where you can unwind, be pampered or enjoy treatments. All are open to non-hotel guests by reservation. Here is our pick of the best.

Méribel's newest hotel is the luxurious five-star Kaila located in the very centre of the resort. Its swanky spa offers the ultimate in facilities and beautiful contemporary design. The large indoor pool is filled with novel features such as a waterfall, swim jet, massaging seats and an air sofa, plus a Jacuzzi and a beach and bar. The Kaila’s Nuxe Spa offers a full range of indulgent treatments, including several designed for couples to enjoy together. Massages start at €85 for 25 minutes, and include Swedish-style massages for tired skiers, cranial and Ayurvedic massages. Pampering and beauty treatments are also offered to children and teenagers. The adjacent gym offers top of the range equipment. Note that these facilities are shared by the adjacent (and more affordable) 4-star La Chaudanne Hotel.

Massages are given by a qualified physiotherapist, and cost from €100 for 50 minutes. Lymphatic drainage, toning and slimming treatments, pregnancy and children’s treatments are all on offer.
