La Folie Douce La Fruitiere Restaurant, Meribel interior

1. La Fruitière Restaurant

Location
Meribel

This restaurant is ideally situated right on the slopes of Meribel at the Saulire Express mid station with easy access from the Maudit and Biche pistes. La Fruitière serves some of the best food to be had on the slopes with their dishes lovingly prepared by Franck Mischler, Maître Cuisinier de France.

Combining authenticity and modernity, the restaurant celebrates all the best things in the Savoie region. Decorated in the style of an authentic dairy co-operative, the restaurant works with local artisans and producers to keep their centuries old regional know how alive. The young, enthusiastic, dynamic team guarantees you a good service in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. They provide well presented, great tasting and organic food, what could be more tempting?

The restaurant is part of the Folie Douce complex, so once you have finished your meal, you can choose not to hit the slopes again and go straight to the neighbouring bar terrace to start your après-ski!

Lunch is available for two sittings only at 12:30 and 14:30, but you may find it hard to leave after lunch as the après-ski at the Folie Douce begins at 15:00.

l'Ekrin Restaurant, Meribel Centre interior

2. l'Ekrin Restaurant

Location
Meribel

An elegant and warm atmosphere, refinement and rich black velvet mixed with gold tones and wood to warm the hearts and appetites.

The chef, Laurent Azoulay, showcases inventive cuisine, delicate and inspired with a fantastic wine menu to match. His philosophy is creativity, texture, revisiting products and bringing them up to date.

Laurent began his career at the Oustau of Baumanière, then worked for Alain Ducasse and Pierre Gagnaire and was a sous-chef at Jacques Chibois’s restaurant in La Bastide Saint-Antoine. He was the chef de cuisine of Les Trésomes in Annecy from 2002 for three years. As of 2013 he has been running this restaurant in Hotel Le Kaila for the winter, whilst in the summer months, he is based at his Montreux restaurant.

The dishes in this establishment from scallops seared with truffles to the Bresse smoked chicken and the langoustine from the Brittany coast are light, instinctive with fantastic texture variation.

4. La Coursive des Alpes Restaurant

Location
Meribel

Welcome to the ski resort’s former cinema, with a lounge bar on the ground-floor for snacks and a drink, and the restaurant proper up on the mezzanine.

This is a unique setting for a restaurant and the decor is also modern and edgy. The bar area is a cosy spot for a pre or post dinner drink, with low mood lighting. The restaurant is bright and vibrant with a view down to the bar. Privatisation is possible for special events.

It's definitely the place to go if you're looking for something a bit different and not the usual Savoyarde fare. The chef cooks modern, tasty, well-crafted cuisine, such as toasted ham with truffles and Beaufort cheese; sweetbread and buckwheat, harissa of carrots; to finish, rum baba with orange preserve and vanilla cream.

On the menu you'll also find reasonably-priced set menus with two or three courses. There is also a children's menu.
