How do I get from Brides-les-Bains to Meribel?

Imprint
Updated

Brides-les-Bains is linked to Méribel and the Three Valleys ski area by the Olympe gondola lift which has a journey time of 25 minutes in either direction. It is only possible to ski to Brides from Méribel during exceptional snow conditions, usually just for a few days each January/February, down a fairly tricky off-piste route. The Olympe gondola opens at 8.30am, allowing you to reach the main lift area in Méribel, la Chaudanne, in time to catch the first Méribel lifts at 9.00am. The last lift back down to Brides is at 5.00pm in the early part of the season, and 5.30pm from the second week in February onwards. There is no scheduled bus service between the two resorts, so if you miss the last gondola lift down at the end of the day you will need to take a taxi. By road the distance between the two resorts is around 15km and the journey takes 15 to 20 minutes, depending on road conditions.
