Group ski lessons

Group lessons by the official and largest French ski and snowboard school

This ski school is the largest in France and one of the oldest, having been established in 1945. Offering a wide range of lessons and childcare from 18 months upwards they can ensure the needs of your entire family/group are met. They even offer English only children's lessons.

Since its creation in 1945 by a group of instructors from the valley, this ski school has grown to become one of the largest in France. All 450 instructors are professionals, trained at the National School of Skiing and Alpinism in Chamonix, with extensive knowledge of the Méribel and Three Valleys ski area and a passion for sharing the mountains with you. Whatever your age, technical level, or goals, skiing with them is sure to be a fun and enjoyable experience.

Group lessons are available across a wide range of disciplines, including skiing, snowboarding, freestyle, telemark skiing, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. Lessons cater to children and adults of all abilities and are offered in English or French.

Children’s lessons

Children begin in the safe and fun environment of the snow garden before moving on to the nursery slopes under the careful supervision of their instructor. Younger children can join:

  • Saturnins nursery for ages 18 months to three years.
  • Club Piou Piou for three to five-year-olds, with half- or full-day sessions, with or without lunch. At the end of their stay, children receive a Club Piou Piou medal.

Mini Club Piou Piou (three to four years):

This club introduces children to skiing in a fun and enjoyable way, helping them take their first steps on the snow.

Club Piou Piou (four to five years):

Instructors focus on building balance, confidence, and basic skiing skills, ensuring the learning experience remains playful and rewarding.

Group options for teens:

A variety of lessons and camps are available for teenagers, including freestyle, snowpark, and competition courses.

Group lessons for adults:

Adult group lessons are a fun way to meet others while improving your technique. Groups are organised by ability level, from beginner to advanced, and focus on a friendly, playful learning environment. Snowboarding groups are also available, with a maximum of ten participants to ensure individual attention.

The school have two meeting points (please ensure you confirm where you should meet your instructor prior to the start of your lessons):

  • La Chaudanne
  • Mottaret
  • Rond Point

Child policy

Ski lessons and ski clubs are available for children from 18 months up to teenage years. Small children in the snowflake to one star levels can take advantage of group lessons in English only, taught by English native speakers or French instructors with a good level of English.

What to bring

Les Saturnins

  • Child's health card or ID
  • Slippers, diapers and a change of clothes
  • Outdoor clothes for playing in the snow
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunblock/high protection sun cream
  • Gloves and hat
  • Their teddy bear/blankie, pacifier and snacks

Club Piou Piou

  • The child's ski equipment - labelled (The kindergarden have labels available)
  • Helmet, gloves and sunglasses
  • A completed medical form for the child (available on the website)

Equipment can be left at the club for the duration of their stay.

Upcoming Events

Méribel hosts a number of events throughout the summer and winter months, some of which span the entire Three Valleys. Two such events are Les 3 Vallees Enduro in April with every type of snowboard, ski and telemark racing imaginable, and the 3 Vallées Addict Tour mountain bike festival every July. The Tourist Office also organises children's events and activities during the school holidays.
