Latest Gear: Haglofs L.I.M Range

A look at the new "Less is More" range for this year

By Andy Malton, Updated

The LIM range has been a big part of Haglofs recent heritage. LIM stands for "Less Is More" and as you can probably guess, the line is aimed at users who want the lightest and most packable gear possible, in particular ultralight hikers and backpackers, trail runners and adventure racers.

The LIM range covers many product categories, from clothing to sleeping bags and footwear and has had a big overhaul for spring 2015. It’s looking better than ever, so here are a few highlights.

L.I.M Windpull

The L.I.M Windpull is the lightest windproof top Haglofs have ever produced and one of the lightest hooded windproofs on the market.Weighing in at just 65g for a size large, the Windpull’s ridiculously low weight is achieved mainly through the use of the almost gossamer 7d Nylon fabric. Despite the low weight the Windpull still manages to have a chest pocket, reflective strips, articulated arms and a reinforced peak on the hood. This is the definitive L.I.M product.

L.I.M Barrier Pro Hood

Available in both a Men’s and Women's specific fit, the L.I.M Barrier Pro Hood is the kind of item that’s great for adding a boost of warmth without having carrying a weight penalty around in your pack. The L.I.M Pro Hood weighs under 200g which is extremely light considering how warm Quad Fusion insulation is. It’s pretty water resistant too thanks to a DWR coating on the shell.

L.I.M Low Shoe

The shoes in the L.I.M range all have a minimal construction, are lightweight in design and are built for fast movement through the mountains. Developed with Haglofs’ parent company and footwear experts Asics, The L.I.M Low Shoe is the basic model in the line, although there is a GoreTex lined version along with a mid version too. Think of the L.I.M Low as a cross between a trail running shoe and a traditional hiking shoe. It has a 5mm heel to toe drop, GEL rearfoot shock absorption, a sticky rubber outsole and reflective hits. Available in both Men’s and Women’s models, the L.I.M Low Shoe should be perfect for fast hikes on Alpine trails this summer.

L.I.M Lite 25 Pack

A simple, super light pack for fast hikes or long runs, the L.I.M Lite 25 weighs just 345g and carries everything that’s needed for a lightweight trip. The front compression system is designed to attach trekking poles and other pieces of gear in a lightweight and stable way and the reflective panels are a good safety feature for those pre dawn starts or post sunset finishes.

L.I.M Down +1 Sleeping Bag

One of the lightest down bags on the market, the L.I.M Down +1 bag has some innovative features to keep the weight down. The bag has no zip but instead features a drawcord closure at the foot for ventilation. The high quality 800 fill power ethically sourced down fill works in conjunction with the intelligent baffled design to give the bag a comfort limit temperature of +1. Considering the bag only weighs 473g that’s pretty impressive! It’s perfect for ultralight backpacking, mountain marathons and adventure racing.
